I’ve been buying, improving and selling homes most of my adult life. If I needed a mortgage, I went directly to a bank and filled out an application. There wasn’t much competition. A mortgage intake person would gather my information and if it didn’t fall within the bank’s pre-determined criteria, I was refused. If that bank said “no”, that basically was the last word, the end of the line. When I eventually discovered mortgage agents, life became easier and opportunities quickly improved. I became a mortgage agent in 2022. It was a natural choice to pivot from using to doing.
